Can anyone direct me to a decent schematic of the steam wand in my Ranc. Silvia gen3 .....it's the wand that has ball joint swivel.  It's not leaking at the swivel, but the on/off part. When turning off the steam, it's taking longer and longer to shut down....up to 5 seconds now.  I'm assuming it is a gasket or o-ring that is worn.  So I'd like to get some part/s before disassembly. So I'm looking for parts and schematic. Thanks in advance.

yeah, sounds like you have to rebuild the valve.  it only has o-rings inside (no gasket).  I can't direct you to a schematic, but you can get the o-rings from places like espressoparts.com.  iirc, they even sell a kit that includes a group gasket and several o-rings for the wand assembly.

Yep, found it.  there is a gasket called a shutoff gasket.  I bought the kit, and will rebuild sometime soon, errr......when I get the kit. Thnx.

Well, it's been a while since I replaced the washer for the steam valve.  My valve was passing steam after shutoff (for about 4 seconds) and I assumed that it was time to change the washer.  Well, the washer was a bear to get off. I had to carefully dig it out and not damage or scratch any surfaces and I was able to after about 15 minutes.  But getting the new gasket on was impossible and I damaged it getting it on. So now the steam leaks for 10 seconds or more....in other words I made it worse. So now I'm trying to figure out who I got the parts from so I can get a new gasket, and then try to figure out how to get it on without screwing it up.

Thanks Craig!  LOL..I was part of that discussion you linked to.  As you know, it's been a while for me.  Sorry to OP for misdirecting.  Though I guess that was a while ago too.

look at espressoparts.com, 1st-line, chris' coffee service, sweet marias and seattle coffee gear.  I'd be surprised if one of those places doesn't have what you need.

I did find it on espressoparts.com finally after searching.  It looks like they redid their website as it does not look familiar. the seal costs 2+bucks delivered. that's the good news, the bad news is I still have to figure out how to get it on.  Maybe this one will be more flexible, but I doubt it.  It is a very hard material, not black rubber, but brownish, thick and hard.
