Saw this Francois et Mimi French Press on Amazon. Reviews rate it positive compared to the Frieling stainless presses, currently $98 for the 36 oz. If you're a fan if stainless press, this is a good value. Lowest price since August.

Amazon's prices change frequently so if you want it jump on it.

Thanks. $15 for the 27oz is a nice buy.

For those who are looking for a solid, well designed double walled stainless steel press with absolutely zero plastic/rubber anywhere, reasonably priced, solid customer service - try SterlingPro on Amazon. 32oz is $53.00 - the press uses double layers of extra-fine screen that eliminates grounds in the brew. I personally love the appearance of the Bodum Columbia - but sadly, plastic is used profusely in all of the Bodum presses. The SterlingPro is comparable to the Frieling - but for less $$.

I use both the Bodum Chambord french press ($30-$40 on Amazon right now) and the Bodum stainless steel travel french press ($30), and I'm not sure what you mean about "plastic is used profusely".   On the Chambord, the only plastic is beneath the lid, which can be turned so the coffee passes through a screened portion when it is poured out, or so that the coffee doesn't touch the plastic at all.  The travel press, in addition to the plastic lid, does have a plastic frame for the screen, and a silicone rubber lip around the screen.  Whatever the detriments of brewing coffee in plastic containers, I don't find this minimal amount of plastic or rubber has a noticeable effect.
Of course, when I make coffee in either of these, I pour it out and drink it immediately.  Do you feel that "absolutely zero plastic/rubber anywhere" is critical for taste, or is it a durability issue?

Hi Espressivo. Sadly...or perhaps happily (depending on how you look at it), I am in a minute group of survivors of an experimental treatment used for a type of systemic cancer not treatable by chemo and/or radiation. Happily, I survived the treatment and the cancer is in remission. Sadly however, there were some prices to pay - almost complete vision loss in both eyes (after multiple ops, I now have "functional" vision in one eye). I totally agree with you that the plastic issue is absurd, however, here's the explanation: Small amounts of exposure/ingestion of chemicals, preservatives, synthetic materials such as plastics, add up in a 24 hour period of time. Normal bodies easily process these toxins out. My body is no longer normal in that regard. Therefore, I eliminate as much exposure to toxins leached into liquid/food as I can. Just trying to minimize exposure where I can. It truly helps me.

I'm sorry to hear about your health issues, but it's good that you are well enough to enjoy good coffee.  Good luck avoiding all contact with plastic in today's world, though I'm sure you can do pretty well with a little effort.  I got rid of all my teflon-coated cookware long ago, I'm sure you have as well.

Espressivo, you're right about the teflon. I probably have a bit of an advantage in my ability to turn back the clock so to speak and live in a pre-plastic/pre-synthetic/pre-artificial food world - I grew up the old-fashioned, southern rural farm way, so, it's really not bad at all. And...for those of us who truly savor all the wonderful nuances of flavorful coffee, a good cup of coffee sure goes a long way to brighten our day. Very thankful that coffee has remained on my list of can-do pleasures!
