I am Xmas shopping for a family member who recently got into coffee. As a long time espresso person (Rancilio Silvia) I dont know much about coffee machines. Any users of this machine and the quality of coffee it makes? I have a Aeropress, how does it compare? Any other suggestions for single serve coffee machines?
Single serve, with water reservoir, able to achieve proper temp, similar to aeropress quality if possible...i guess that leaves me w/ machine only. Too many coffees I have tried from restaurants and even from Nespresso machine k-cups taste burnt.
Something like the Hario or Aeropress will not due cause I dont think he can achieve correct temp. by boiling, nor will he prob. like going through the trouble of boiling then adding it to a manual drip or device like aeropress. That is the reason I decided not to get a aeropress as a gift - boiling water will prob. just end up being too hot and he will burn the coffee.

I'm the sole coffee drinker in my family so an automatic drip single maker is important to me. I have the bunn and it's outstanding. The ground coffee drawer has enough room to make a strong cup especially with the pulse feature activated. Fits my cool glass mug as well as my contigo travel thermos. I only drink ground coffee but i do keep decaf kcups on hand for times a guest prefers that... I can just pop in the kcup drawer.
A wildcard machine would be the new kitchenaid single cup drip that can brew up to 18oz into a thermos
