Has anyone experimented with brewing very small amounts of coffee, say 10 grams or less, in an aeropress? Anyone see any reason it would affect the overall quality in the cup? How about in a clever dripper, or something similar?
I roast small batches of coffee and I'm playing with different brew methods to taste (apart from standard cupping protocol). I feel like I've lost all objectivity over the course of the past few days through excessive coffee consumption -- apparently coffee is stimulant! :)
Anyway, I know the logical thing to do is experiment with all of this, but I literally made myself nauseous today from sampling too much of my own product -- I guess it's a good thing I'm making coffee and not meth :)

I brew 12g at a time in the aeropress and small clever with great results. Going to 10g would only mean dealing with increased heat loss during brewing due to lower volume of hot water. Also when you make a ton of cups in a day, get a spoon and do a slurp and spit approach to avoid that pain!

Tasting 10 grams of coffee cannot be possible. If you are worried about excessive caffeine due to tasting of samples in your product, then I think swallowing it is not needed to determine the taste. Just keep on tasting and never swallow to avoid excessive caffeine.
Did you know...? Dark roast coffees actually have less caffeine than lighter roasts due to the fact that the process of roasting burns off caffeine. www.coffeeloversmag.com/theMagazine
