Someone else on here has posted recently about suspected temperature problems on a Technivorm, so it would be interesting to find out what's causing the issues that you have with the Bonavita. The Technivorm issue has had several members scratching their heads without coming up with any definitive diagnosis/solution, and these are both essentially the same design, although the component quality of the Technivorm is going to be higher in some ways.
They are very very simple machines which just rely on the thermodynamics of heating the water to eject it from the brewhead. You'd expect this to be driven by the temperature of the water itself - water heats more quickly, ejected more quickly etc. rather than it getting hotter before the machine "decides" to send it to the brewhead. so in principle, self regulating. Or am I on the wrong track there ?
Have you noticed the machine taking longer/shorter to brew than it used to ?
I doubt they would repair it though - not worth the effort, and they don't look designed to be worked on. So if you get a new one that works fine - Result ! great for you - ;o)) but we'll never know about any problem ;o((

The brewing time seems to be as it was when new, about 6.5 minutes. When I was first using it four months ago there were times that the finished brew tasted better, but that was only in the first month. I thought the brew was coming out of the filter holder at to slow a rate and tried to resolve that with opening up the outlet, it didn't make any difference! I always thought it tasted over extracted!
Hi, I just went to the Bonavita web site and placed a warranty replacement request. I should have done this months ago! My coffee at home is always perfect with my 7 year old Technivorm KBTS brewer. I bought this Bonavita brewer for my work place to have great coffee. Its been a disappointment.
