Just went through one yesterday and after cleaning years of old grounds the burrs didn't look bad. Just wondering if others are leaving the small discharge chute flaps or removing them. They hold about 1 1/2 grams of the previous days grind. I left them in place but don't like the idea of old grounds mixing in with a new grind.
I ended up replacing mine with transparency film - it provides enough resistance to keep static down but retains less grounds. Before the next days grind I just toss a half dozen or so beans in to purge the last bit out.
