I currently have a cheap blade grinder and noticed uneven grinds. I only brew coffee with a moka and v60 pour-over. I dont want to spend too much on a grinder. Noticed some manual burr grinders in my price range. Would I get a more even grind going manual? Would I notice a difference given my brew methods or should I just stick with the cheap blade? Also noticed some auto burr grinders in the 40-50 range; should I go that route instead? There are only a few comments on manual grinders here cause I know espresso is serious stuff but i wont venture into that arena and I only brew for myself.

If you don't mind the work, a Manual Burr mill is ideal. Lets you get way more consisten and adjustable grind. I would not recommend a $40-50 auto-burr mill, they aren't usually any better than a blade and eveness and you'd probably be wanting to get rid of it. Acceptable electirc Burr grinders are $100+, way higher if you want to go espresso.
A good Hario Skerton you would keep for a long time, even if you end up getting a fancy electric grinder.

If you get a manual burr grinder that is geared more towards a drip/press pot grind, I can agree here. However, many of the "cylindrical" manual grinders were meant for espresso, and produce substandard, uneven grind at the coarser levels. The other problem is even if you're only grinding for a 2 cup presspot, you will have MANY turns of the handle. Personally, I would go to the Baratza website, click on refurbs, and see if there is an Encore refurb. I'll guess it is $99, with a warranty.
It will do a fine job for all grinding, and even espresso in a pinch. The grinder is the most important implement in ANY coffee brewing technique. Anyone who says otherwise, especially for a manual pour like Hario/Chemex, etc is uninformed.
