It's been some time since I fixed/corrected mine, & I can't remember which way the handle (handle outer cover is taken/popped off too) is supposed to turn to release the black top., so I'd call Bob Rodda or email customer service & ask for help.

On the issue of water left in the tank after brewing:
I had, on two successive mornings, with the brewer set to auto, and letting the cycle complete without interfering in any way, about 1/4 inch of water left in the kettle. Looking back at some recent posts (FRCN), I noted the suggestion that "vapor lock" was impeding the full release of water into the filter. On that theory, I thoroughly dried the lid (I believe that on the two prior brews, I left the condensation on the lid), emptied the residual water from the kettle, and dried around the perimeter, where the lid touches.
Result: no residual water (other than a small amount of condensation).
I will continue with this routine to see what happens, and will report back.
To FRCN, did the new lid that Behmor sent you cure the problem that you were experiencing?

Haven't used the brazen since the lid arrived.. sorry. I had thought about a vent hole through the middle, but the inner, hollow portion would hold water and had the potential to become a health hazard. Possibly a one-way valve in the lid that allowed air in but not steam out...?

Got my Brazen yesterday, it makes great coffee. The carafe is almost unacceptable, regardless of orientation I've been unable to pour a cup of coffee without dribbling all over the desktop :-(

What works best for me is to gently press on the lever as the coffee is being poured. I get a nice small steady stream of coffee. If I press too hard or all the way down, a wide stream flows out, then it runs down the pot.
I love the coffee that is brewed from this pot. I've tried different coffees from different vendors and always get a great pot. Yesterday i made a pot at 200, and it was a bit bitter, today same coffee at 202 - phenomenal.
I never use a paper filter. And fortunately, I haven't had excess moisture in the reservoir or the brew chamber.....
Go easy on the pour lever, hopefully that will help.

I'm a huge fan of the coffee this brewer makes (really, WOW), but the carafe is a significant negative.

That prevents it from dribbling coffee down the side of the pot.
There's a different problem: as the pot empties, the coffee pours from the spout in a wider and wider stream, sometimes splitting into two streams or into unpredictable patterns. The spigot design appears to be the cause. Try filling a narrow Thermos and you eventually get coffee spilling down both sides of the Thermos, and no coffee going into the Thermos. Pouring slowly or quickly doesn't solve this. Removing the lid helps a bit, but not enough to avoid spills.
Are there alternative carafes? Has anybody tried modifying it manually? BTW, I own two carafes and they both do this.
To the friendly folks at Behmor: I'd happily buy an updated carafe if you ever make it available.

I don't now it it was just my lucky day, but I took the silicone gasket out of the cover and reversed it. The dribbling seemed to be better, but like I said it may of been just luck.

I contacted Behmor customer service, they replied pretty quick, they sent a diagram of 3 different spots the carafe leaks, I pointed out the problem I was having and replied back.
Hopefully they will remedy the problem, they seem to be on top of it.
