it works very well, it's just a separatory funnel and a 4" o-clamp attached to a 24" steel stand. all of this can be had on amazon, for much cheaper than the giant drip towers that are essentially the same thing. Most everyone here will have a v-60 of sorts and a carafe. I cant wait til summer to try it out. thought i'd share.

Nice! did you consider using the upper part of your siphon instead of a V60? my guess is that the conical shape of the V60 isn't ideal for this kind of extraction, but it might work.
Btw, i found a considerably cheaper cold drip tower on Ebay, seems like they're made in Korea, they look almost as good as more expensive ones, and they even have a plastic version for 35$ that includes a drip valve..i'm thinking of getting one: Click Here (www.ebay.com)

I enjoy brighter coffees all the time. I was brewing a fruited Ethiopia in the photo. The single origins seem to do well as long as there is some body and theyve had ample time to rest, otherwise they turn out quite flat.

That makes sense, I enjoy the brighter coffees too and usually prefer to hot brew over ice with a Chemex using a nice SO Kenya or Ethiopia. I did try a cold brew from Barefoot Coffee at the Mock Competition this month at B2 that was pretty good, had some brightness and the barista explained that they were using good quality centrals. My beef with cold brew is just what you mentioned, they can turn out flat and uninteresting.
