If I remember, I'll take a pic next time it gets used. The illumination is only a gimmick of course (what else !) and they made similar models without, but it all adds a bit of theatre and fun to life. Very bright to start. Lights up all the water content and gradually deepens in colour as the coffee brews.

As a friend of mine said when first seeing it working...."only in America...." ;o))) **

** but also said the same thing when watching the fountains at the Bellagio
