I have had this for about 7 years I believe. Suddenly the other dasy, I could not turn the hopper past 10! So, I forced it past, must have been a jam. So, I opened it up and cleaned everything. Put it back together and now it won't run! Maybe I broke it? I was thinking of sending back to Baratza for repair or refurb? What do you all think?
For now, I am just using my Cuisinart blade grinder and it seems fine. I only do drip, french once in a while, moka pot and aeropress.

In my family we have 6 Baratza grinders. Actually, 2 Maestros, 2 Maestro Plus', 1 Precisio and 1 Encore.
Two years ago I tried to grind a pebble (unnoticed among the beans). I sent a note to Baratza, they sent me the repair parts (under $15) and I repaired it. It has worked well ever since.
My son also caught a pebble and stripped a gear. I have an order in for the repair parts and will help him fix it when they arrive.
Baratza are very good with service issues.
Their grinders are designed for home repair. Almost everything in them can be replaced with a few simple tools. There are great pictorial instructions, in .pdf files, on how to dissemble and reassemble their grinders.
