Dave's right, you'll get better info if you re-post in the espresso section. But personally, I'd suggest the Rancilio Silvia. I don't think it's far north of $600 and it's still the best entry-level machine for good home espresso.

I second the Le Let, my PERSONAL feeling is that the Sylvia is over priced for what you are paying, yes I do own one and use it at work and as a travel machine but it would not be my first choice.... or even third. YMMV!
