Are you just trolling this thread? It looks like it to me - Technivorm fanboys seem to love telling others what they do not want to buy...
For anyone reading this that might really be interested in purchasing one of these brewers, if you want a 6, 8, 10, or 12 fl oz cup then simply add that amount of water to the reservoir - want 16 fl oz? take 80 seconds out of your busy life and brew two 8 fl oz cups.
I chew coffee beans with my teeth while gargling with 195 F water to enjoy coffee. What is this "coffee brewing" device you speak of?
I would gently remind you that those interested in the Trifecta don't seek QUANTITY (which a Technivorm does well...quality too). For them, it's about achieving state of the art results, exposing all that a coffee has to give.
BTW, I owned a Technivorm for several years, and it is a wonderful brewer. However, based upon those who've either own a trifecta or have tasted the coffee produced by it we're in a totally different plane here.
Perhaps those who own a a Technivorm, or other high quality drip machine and purchase a Trifecta could share their comparisons and such.
I do not own a Technivorm (which is a fine auto drip machine by any standard with nice build quality and capable of brewing a good cup of coffee) but I do use a Bonavita BV-1800. By most internet accounts as well as my own personal comparison the cup quality between the TV and the BV are identical - both brew good cups of coffee.
The Trifecta MB creates a different cup - the ability to amplify certain flavor characteristics is unique to this brewer based on my experience. It really is apples to oranges comparing this to another automatic brewer. Likely someone skilled with an Aeropress would know what variable to modify to change the flavor in a cup - the Trifecta invites the user to enjoy a similar experience with a very minimal learning curve.

Last December I bought an Aeropress and really got into the turbulence, temperature, and air pressure way of extracting the flavors of coffee. I use it on weekends when I have time to do it "right".
After reading all the posts so far I think I have an intelligent question.
Is the Trifecta Home an (advanced) automatic version of the Aeropress?
Bonus question: Does the Trifecta Home brew more efficiently than the Aeropress (which seems to use more coffee per cup).
The Aeropress and now the Bunn have got me thinking of selling the Gaggia Factory 6 lever in favor of this (Made in USA, cool!) machine.

I have 2 questions about the Trifecta MB:
1) In the videos, it looked like the home model doesn't pause very long for the presoak (whereas the professional model gives you more flexibility here). How long of a presoak pause can you achieve with the home model?
2) The professional model is said to heat the air before it is injected. Does the home model have an identical feature?

Yes I attend CoffeeCon and yes I test the Bunn Trifecta. That means I know what I speak of just as much as "Amateur Review Guy" who I think has seen one too many Man vs. Food episodes on TV. And why nobody gave me free coffee paraphernalia at Coffeeon? You miss your great chance! I will spam all of the coffee discussion boards for you with raving reviews for your products! What did I learn about the Bunn Trifecta? Does it make good coffee? Yes! $500.00 good coffee? No, sorry. The coffee is no better than what I get from my Chemex, or from my Bunn Velocity Brew. And many of the settings that you are paying for on the Bunn Trifecta are for tea. We do not drink tea in our household so those settings are worthless. As far as the settings for coffee go, they are really only for making the coffee stronger or weaker. If you infuse and agitate for a longer time, the coffee is stronger. Shorter time, coffee is weaker. There is no rainbow of flavors for each setting. The flavor profile for the coffee you are brewing is what you end up with in the cup. Just as it is supposed to be. That is why coffee roasters describe the different flavors present in their different blends, so that you will know ahead of time what you are buying. The coffee roaster doesn't say that you will only taste these flavors if you go out and buy a Bunn Trifecta for $500.00. Would I buy a Bunn Trifecta? Sorry, no. The convenience factor is cancelled out by its limited ability to only brew 12 ounces of coffee at a time. Plus I do not like having to bang out the coffee grounds stuck in the bottom of the chamber. And I don't like having to pay for the tea making option which I will never use.

Leroy, while it perfectly within your right here (after 5 posts as per CG rule) to criticize a product or service, I feel your opening salvo at "Amateur Review Guy"..Eric?..IS, IMO an unnecessary personal attack, which we try our best to avoid here. i myself was recently slammed a bit, but rightly or wrongly, they did so without PERSONAL attack.
We welcome your posts, but I'd ask you refrain from the smarmy sort of thing. You expressed yourself well enough without that sort of thing.
