Bunn gave someone a Trifecta at CoffeeCon? Sure wish it was me - all I got to do was make coffee with one like everyone else who signed up for the lab...
I chew coffee beans with my teeth while gargling with 195 F water to enjoy coffee. What is this "coffee brewing" device you speak of?

Well, I would have prolly lowered my already low standard of decorum, gotten on my knees, and begged, pleaded, cajoled, and otherwise groveled at the feet of whomever was in the booth, with tears in my eyes, and inquired as to whether there was a scratch, dented, or otherwise UPS messed with unit available at a discount! (please, I'm half kidding)
BTW, having re-read some of the previous posts before I raised a few questions, I can see where I might have been a bit hasty, or even insensitive. I offer my apology.

I have 2 questions about the Trifecta MB:
1) In the videos, it looked like the home model doesn't pause very long for the presoak (whereas the professional model gives you more flexibility here). How long of a presoak pause can you achieve with the home model?
2) The professional model is said to heat the air before it is injected. Does the home model have an identical feature?
I can try to answer point 1): You have three choices of infusion time. :40, :45 and :50 seconds for coffee. There are five choices of turbulence cycle which adjusts the sequence of mixing and pausing, so basically from my time with it, the lower the turbulence the longer the pausing (soak).
I have no idea on point 2)....heated air is not mentioned when the turbulence cycle is explained in the included literature.

Bunn will, of course, be a huge sponsor of CoffeeCon 2013, which will be May 4 this year just west of Chicago.
I'm not counting this post as an advertisement, since my role in CoffeeCon is as a volunteer organizing a volunteer demonstration of multiple home roasting devices.
If anyone's interested in joining the demo let me know. 2000 attending consumers may be interested in home roasting. Who knows? :-)

Scott, great to see you here. (haven't for a while). Your posting is timely, informational, and totally good with me.
Bunn makes fine products.
Man, as a long time home roaster (SC/CO) and Behmor beta tester, owner I'd love to be there an help, watch, drink copious amounts of coffee. I'm in the Nashville burbs, so it's about 8 hours by car to Chicago, I believe. Apologies to the OP for the slight Off topic

You'd be welcome to join us in the roasting pavilion. We're organizing the roasters in a thread at GCBC, and any home roaster is welcome to join the fun. For the roasters, it's just a volunteer public education event. The ideal goal would be to have a lot of people become home roasters.
Last year I was really drooling over the Trifecta. Couldn't afford it even with the show discount. It's on my short list, but the problem is that nothing on my short list is inexpensive. ;-)
