I was shopping at World Market today and came across several "World Market" brand #4 ceramic filter cones in a variety of really pretty colors. I think they are just introducing them as I have never see them for sale there before. I picked up an "Aqua" one for only $6.99, and haven't used it yet. I must say the single hole looks EXTREMELY small compared to my plastic Melitta cones. I'll update y'all when I get a chance to try it out.

Do they have any ridges inside?  It doesn't look like it from the pic.

Yes, starting a little below halfway down the cone. I'll take a pic later.

Here are some pics I just took of mine. Note the small hole.

Does the small hole interfere with using the cone?  Grind a little coarser if it flows too slow, right?

For me, the hole is too small to be useful. I already have a #2 size Melitta cone that I use for single mugs and I bought this one to make larger amounts. Using the coarsest grind on a Capresso Infinity, 60g of coffee, and 30oz of water, it took almost EIGHT minutes to drip down into the carafe!

Good to know, thanks.

Anybody have any luck with these gizmos for smaller batches? I'm just interested in a cheapo option for a cup at a time at work.

Thanks!
