Mitch I have completed a transaction with the seller thru ebay on the fpg grinder (12/29). They were a little slow to answer email and I asked they to delay shipment to 1/7 and received confirmation and tracking the same day. The grinder should arrive on friday or saturday. Considering the current weather situation a delay would not be unexpected. I did notice the seller listing a fpg grinder on ebay several days ago, no listings at present.

A couple of my emails to the Buyers: "Yes, sorry., I've been very busy as I'm doing 3 jobs in addition to moderating the Coffeegeek forums, responding to all the emails back & forth with this 'Group Buy' of grinders, etc. Alan D runs a medical supply shop full time. I saw that Alan DeCourcey listed another of the grinders for sale on eBay & sold it on Mon Jan 10th , so I'm not sure if the last one is available or not.. Or as in my email below from my CG post on the grinder thread.
I haven't heard back from Alan yet either. You're welcome, Cheers! Sincerely, Craig."

I'm just the liaison /co-ordinator here between the Buyers & the Seller Alan D. I'm sure that when Allan looks & sees the list as it progressed & finalized, he would contact each Buyer in cronological order just as I received them in the emails from you guys (the Buyers) & listed the Buyers in cronological order here for the Grinder Buyers Master List..

Mitch:
The FPG grinder arrived in perfect condition, double boxed and professionally packed. The only thing to quibble about is a very small stress crack on the bottom portion of the hopper that does not detract from the grinder at all and is nothing to worry about. For a used grinder I would rate it as like new. This thing is huge and makes my Major look small. We are talking overkill here and I hope you have a good spot to put it, mine is on a workbench in the garage. I look forward to tips on how best to use it!

I did not pay attention to this thread, but I now see my name down for one of these. I requested information, which I received - thanks for that.
It probably is a great deal for someone who does not have a good French press grinder and it would look impressive next to my stainless steel Wilbur Curtis Alpha. I do have a very nice FP grinder already so the Alpha will just have to play with it's current friends. FYI, I have received no contact from Alan. He must be busy moving out these grinders.
This will free up a spot for someone wanting in - good luck!
I chew coffee beans with my teeth while gargling with 195 F water to enjoy coffee. What is this "coffee brewing" device you speak of?

Yep, a good French press grinder or a bulk/portion grinder for your Wilber Curtis Alpha, Bunn pourover, even the home brewers.

As I was saying, he's running a medical supply shop full time., & must only have a limited amount of time after a full days work to be able to respond to each & every buyer, & professionally pack eack grinder.

Mine has this at all the hopper attachment holes also, just to let everybody know. I phoned Allan about this (when I received my grinder) & he told me that ALL the grinders (their individual hoppers) that were purchased for the coffee chain (18 or 19 total units) had this 'defect'. None of my hopper slight/small cracks extend to the vertical sides of the hopper. Allan assured me that he contacted BUNN head office in Springfield Illinois when he noticed this & mentioned this defect of "stress cracks" around all or nearly all of the four attachment holes. Allan mentioned to them that there should be a better way to attach the hoppers than a 'harder' nylon washer on the outside & one on the inside of the hopper. I suggested maybe 'softer' surgical silicone washers to Allan. I think it's possible that when they drill these locating & mounting holes in the hopper, that's introducing minute stress fractures in the Plexiglass.
Maybe if the "holes" were moulded around a pin/dowel, that wouldn't happen.
I've checked out the price/s for a new hopper without all the associated hardware & I found prices ranging from $40 - $60.
Hank, was your grinder shipped upside down? Mine was shipped that way, with the hopper facing toward the bottom of the extremely well packed double boxed package.
For a used grinder I would rate it as like new.
Like I told you guys, I certainly wouldn't steer ya'll wrong., & my grinder only had the tiniest of a mark (not even a scratch that you could feel) on the front lower part of the stainless steel control panel. It'll buff or polish out, & I couldn't be happier with my purchase!!
This thing is huge and makes my Major look small. We are talking overkill here and I hope you have a good spot to put it, mine is on a workbench in the garage. I look forward to tips on how best to use it!
LOL!, I thought the same thing Hank!! The 1st thing I did was I looked at my Major sitting on the floor at the back door of my house, & at the Bunn FPG sittin' on the kitchen counter & laughed a bit! {;-D
