Hi Chris,

You've made a good choice IMO!  {;-)

Made in France Peugeot have been in business since 1842 making pepper mills, & I'm sure approximately the same time with coffee hand mills. I don't know about the UK & the rest of Europe, but here in Canada the grinder mechanism carries a lifetime warranty!!

The Zassenhaus German made coffee hand mills carry a 10 year warranty.

thanks,glad to get some reassurance,
I would consider one then just as I made my mind up another grinder would enter the frame,I think the thing that made me just pick one was, I have just recieved a fresh bag of roasted coffee that cost a bit more than I would normally pay and seeing the different sized grounds washing away was what swung it at last.

What brewing method(s) are you going to be using this for?

I'm looking for a good hand grinder for French press--something that grinds evenly at a coarse setting and doesn't create a lot of dust-- and I've been researching this one a bit.  I'm trying to understand how the burrs work in Peugeots that make them, supposedly, better for French press.

I'll be using the grinder for pour over and french press, what sold me on this grinder was I've heard a lot of good reviews on the online shop "orphan espresso" and the peugeot is a grinder that they recommend for those brewing methods, even more so than the zassenhaus grinder.

Have you found any pictures or schematics of the burrs?  I can't find anything on what may make new Peugeots better than new Zassenhauses for French press grinding.

Did you buy it from a UK vendor, or were you able to buy it somewhere right from France?

Congratulations, you've chosen one of the best (if not the best).
Someone mentioned lifetime warancy. Even if you don't get such this device will serve you and your children.

Have a great grinding day :)

thanks, good to know I've choosen well.

I've been able to source the grinder from the UK,by doing so was able to keep the price low,so was glad about that,as for any pics of the burrs,I can't help you there but one of the reaons they are better for french press grinding than the zassenhaus is the zassen tends not to hold it's setting too well apart from the finer settings but am sure that is not the only reason,I'll give an update when it arrives in a few days.
