Subject: Hario paper filter and holder for Yama vacuum brewers?

I love my Yama 5- and 8-cup vacuum brewers but I've gotten spooked by the apparent link between elevated cholesterol and coffee that has not been paper-filtered. I was wondering if anyone knows how the Hario paper filters and holder work in the Yama brewers.

I'd also love to know which filter to use, since the Hario site doesn't seem to have much information in English, and if anyone knows of a source of the holder and paper filters.

Could you use Aeropress filters in the holder?

I'm very grateful for any help I can get.

This place sells the Hario paper filter.  I have one for my Hario but I don't know if it would work in a Yama.  It is harder to pull coffee through the paper filter than with the cloth filter.

I also got the Hario paper filter holder and filters from Avenue 18. Good service and the holder/filters work perfectly in my Yama. I'm still using the original Hario filters I ordered, but it appears that it would be easy to make your own out of more readily available filters.

Just because it happened to you doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.
