Are there any decent all in one grind and brew coffee makers under 15 1/4"?  The only one I can find with a burr grinder is the Cuisinart 12 cup, but it is 16" which is too tall for my kitchen space.

If I may just quote part of your post, that's a question I'd like to find the answer to. If there was one, I wouldn't care about size (unless it was the size of a VW Bug!!!)

Hi all,
Sorry to make my first post here a "me too" but the subject, and follow-up are what caught my eye and prompted me to register. I'd been surfing this morning reading up on reviews for G'nBs  after burning out the motor on my third Cuisinart. It was my fault because I'm frustrated by the weak coffee this thing makes (made) because the grinder doesn't hold enough beans do it was over filled (like the last two), not to mention the infamous filter drawer pop-out problem (Good morning!), the flimsy, over-complicated design, the fact that if it was 1/4" shorter it would fit under my  15 1/4" counters, that the coffee is real warm, at best (this is the thermal carafe, which I preheat by pouring boiling water into). Other than that, it's OK.

But I digress...

I'm reading some decent reviews on the Capresso, tho not raves, and the Melitta (very little out there). And I'm wishing Technivorm would make one (or do they? Not really sure about that)

I'm also wondering why a coffee grinder could possibly be worth more than US$30 or 40????!!! After the Cuisinart kicked this morning, I pulled out my Corona hand grinder I use for grinding malt for beer making and it did a pretty adequate job filling the need. That cost $29 a couple years ago.

So anyhoo, here's a hello, and another vote for a G 'nB shoot-out.

Which Capresso model are you referring to?

Figured out which Capresso machine you were referring to, some pretty unfavourable reviews unfortunately, and it is the size of a tank!  The Melitta looks like it is blade only.

The Cuisinart looked promising with the burr grinder, but at 16.5" was just too tall.

Oh well.

Here's another with a burr grinder, but looks brand new.  15" tall, so fits the bill.  Can't find it in Canada, as usual.

And thanks for that, wasn't aware of a Krups model. I note in some reviews tho the water temperature issue (or lack thereof) again.

Where'd you see the reviews?  I didn't think this model was out yet (seems to be a preorder on Wholelattelove)?
