Okay coffee geeks. I took your advice and bought the Technivorm KBT 741 and the Solis MaestroT Classic Conical Burr Grinder. The coffee is great, but the grinder is a pain! The grinding itself is fine, but when I remove the cylinder containing the ground beans a vigorous static charge peppers my kitchen with coffee.
Needless to say this lowered the "wife approval factor" by at least 50%. B)

I ordered mine from boyds.com. I don't know what the difference is, I did a copy->paste of the model name from the Technivorm website because I knew if I misentered it someone in this forum would point it out! Thank you for proving me right ;)
Anyway, I wondered the same thing... I was pretty sure mine was a KB-741, but when I saw it was listed as KBT on the TV website I figured I was wrong. For what it is worth, the picture of the KBT on the TV site looks just like mine.
Okay, let me see if I have this straight... My W.A.F. is already at a feeble 50% and you want me to tell my wife that the (already frowned-upon) $300 coffee maker and grinder is going to produce coffee that is "funny tasting"? Well... at least my coffee will be snuggly soft and spring fresh. B)

I have also heard you can try computer static wipes like these below. They also have "antistatic" mat gizmos as well. Hopefully, the static should be less once summer kicks in.
