Craig, this is going OT but

for the last 2 years no image posted here will enlarge when I click it.  Is that to do with my MAC computer or the site upgrade?

I click on the image and it blinks but does not enlarge.

Javascript should be enabled, and the pic will show in a new window.  I tried to include a direct link to the larger pic of the new control board posted by Prof stored on coffeegeek but it won't let me.

But it's at: wwwDOTcoffeegeekDOTcom/images/65288/NewBehmorPLUSboard.jpg if that's what you were wanting to see.

Shawn, we owners are excited as well.
As solid a roaster as it is presently, it now appears we'll have more control and feedback, always a great thing.

BTW, though you've been a member a while, and as this is your first posting, welcome to the Forums!

That new control is sweet, that's a huge advancement saving people a lot of time fiddling and tricks and magic dust and this and that (lol ;) ) to do roast on the Behmor which is your only choice unless you want to spring $$$ for other roasters that offer that similar control the new one will. And very cool that it'll be adaptable so people that currently own one can just buy the panel and install it. Props to Behmor.

Joe, congrats on your USRC! They are a great company, US made, and by those I know that have one, have excellent CS...as does Behmor. You're covered both ways.
Both roasters are 2 completely different beings, and hopefully you'll enjoy both a long time.

Thanks Rob,
I've aways had great support from Joe and Bob at Behmor and have heard great things about USRC being just as devoted to their products. Even if the new board was available 6 months ago it still would not have affected my decision to upgrade......might have prolonged it ..

I got the USRC Sample roaster. I would have loved to get the 3k but wife capped me at $9G. $13.5 is still a reasonable price for the 3k. I dont want to tell the wife about the new control board for the Behmor yet. Complaining about the lack of control is what got the USRC approved in the first place.

Steering this lovely conversation back to the Behmor.  ;>D

At this point it seems like Joe has made an excellent decision to keep what works...an ultra dependable, long lasting 1# capacity roaster, listened to his customers, and yes, the detractors, and if all is as we're hearing, given us a roaster with several of the standard features of roasters that cost 2-4 times more.

There continues to be a significant niche for a roaster with the capacity of the Behmor, the dependability, at a price point within reach of nearly all. Having more control is another "plus." SORRY.
As has been explained, cooling within the 1600 can be greatly enhanced with a small $15 3 speed fan. Mine sits on top of the open door, the door supported underneath by one of my heavy heat proof gloves, so there is no strain on the door hinges. Works like a charm. I still allow the roaster to continue it's cooling cycle to assure all the internals cool down properly.
