Subject: Odd question about a Behmor 1600

So last night I was starting a roast on my 1600 and realized I had selected the wrong profile as soon as I hit start. I tried hitting P2 after hitting start and it displayed a number. After stopping and restarting the roast on the desired profile, I tried it on the other profile buttons.

I found that hitting either P1 or P2 while a roast is underway displays what I beleive to be tempurature reading displayed in (what I assume) is Celcius. The number changed throuhout the roast and seemed to fluctuate based on the power curve of the profile I chose. I didn't have a probe on hand to verify the tempuatures and I'm not sure where the readings were being pulled from.

I was wondering if anyone had come across anything like this in their experiences with the 1600 or has the tools to maybe check what this is exactly?

I just pushed each profile button while roasting and the display did not change. Knowing the inside temp would be awesome.  OP, have you tried to duplicating the display you found ???

None of the one's I have show that, but I understand that more recent roasters might.

I plan on doing another roast tonight so I will see if I can get the same thing displaying. It only worked with the P1 and P2 buttons, none of the others did anything different.

I'll let you know once I give it a shot.

So I tried it again the other night and attempted to record the temps with a digital kitchen thermometer. I know it's not the most accurate of implements but it would at least give me an idea of if it's actually a tempurature readout. I placed the probe right by the drum motor drive.

As best as I could gather, it is not a temperature reading. At least none that is accurate enough to be of any use for roasting, it wasn't displaying anything close to the same as the display was showing.

I guess we may never know what it is.
