Posted Sun Sep 1, 2013, 8:12pm Subject: Availability of (retail) green coffee beans outside of USA
At first glance, this might seem like a dumb question, but when I was touring Guatemala the supermarket had a ton of instant "coffee" and just a bit of ground coffee for sale.
I'm going to be travelling via sailboat down the west coast of Mexico and Central America before going across the Pacific towards the various islands (Tahiti, Tonga, Samoa, ...). Does anyone know if I'll be able to purchase green coffee beans anywhere? I'm afraid that there no market for retail green beans and very little market for local roasters, which would mean I'd only be able to buy pre-roasted/packaged stuff.
