On the coast in N. CA, Vienna roast still reigns supreme for some of my customers. I have shied away from Sumatran's up to now in many years of roasting and buying from Sweet Marias. But they now have a Peaberry that is very tempting for a good price. My question is really what people are getting in Sumatran these days, and if you're roasting them into the second crack what kind of flavor over Earthiness you're getting.
I generally stick with Central American to go darker than FC+, most will. This is as tempting as Sumatran has been for me though.
