Subject: SEARCHING FOR THE "Platinum GREEN BEAN"  Does It Exist?

Dear Steve Caffine.....LOVE THE NAME.  Thank you, thank you for that great comparison list.  I'm new to CGC...just purchased a zillion dollar machine (SuperAuto).  Now I'm on the quest to find the PLATINUM GREEN BEAN.....does it exist?

I've read about and somewhat tried the usual ones, Jamaican, Ethiopian, Kona but I'm not very impressed.  Am I searching for a green bean that doesn't exist.  I know it's all about one's personal taste.  The last fantastic cup-of-joe that I can't get out of my mind was slowly sipped in Puerto Rico.....So, maybe my taste is leaning to PR coffee beans.  Any recommendation on green PR beans or any other?

There's a guy on eBay selling PR Yauca green beans.  With s/h for 5#'s, it's $8.99lb....that's high, right?  Also, should I be leary of ebay green bean sellers?   Even though green beans are grown in special places that make them unique, do they go stale or bad, hence the flood of green beans on eBay?

Thanks again....

Alyce

This was a great old resource, but now outdated in some cases (I believe a couple of the vendors have closed) but hopefully dragging up the past might help get some updates for the newer members (BarryR started a thread recently) to find some good resources for greens.
