Hey guys. I got my Behmor in December of 2012, and I always thought everything was running smoothly. My voltage is very high..usually around 123.4 and still over 120 when the roaster is on.

Most of my 8oz roasts have always taken about 10:20 to 11 minutes to reach first crack on P1. I always thought this was normal, however after reading around I'm finding that some people are getting to first crack much sooner with the same load of beans.

Is something wrong with my machine? Do I need to contact Behmor?

Thanks

It depends on the beans and also on the ambient temperature.  There could be something amiss with your 1600, but your times to 1C with 227g seem okay compared to my roasts.

Also, if you don't preheat the 1600, your times to 1C will be longer than those who do.  I wouldn't worry about it, but do keep records in the possible case that things change for the worse.

My 1600 is going on many years now and is still making great roasts.

If you e-mail service they will tell you to test 8oz on p1 and see when 1c starts anywhere around 9/10 min is exeptable.

I agree.  If you're having issued getting to 2C then you may have a problem.  If you wan't to stretch out roasts for better taste P4 and P5 are best.
