Reminds me of a friend of mine. He and his wife travel a lot, and one of their trips to Costa Rica, they had "traditionally roasted" coffee, made with what he described as a "sock".
He mentioned to them that he had a friend (me) back in the states that roasts his own coffee, and asked how they do it. This question asked while he was watching the guy stir a huge iron pot full of green beans - probably 50 lb of them - sitting in a fire.
The guy "roasting" the coffee said they do this in a pot over a fire, cooking/roasting the beans for, oh, about 2 to 3 hours!
No wonder I feel rushed sometimes when I roast. LOL
