I love my behmor but as others have stated it's not ideal for dark roasts. But as others have stated, after playing around you may find that you might like lighter roasts. Anyway, you could also take a look at the FZ-RR 700. I personally don't get it, as it's more expensive, can only roast halva pound at a time, and you have to provide your own heat source, but in its simplicity it's less finicky and potentially gives you more control
