I keep getting the 30 second cool down cycle when I plug in my  B.  It won't let me get past it.  Has about 110 roasts on it and I replaced the brain at about 50 roasts.  Is that all they're good for?  Any suggestions for getting past that 30 second cool down even when the machine has't been used.  Thx for any help.

check that the chaff tray is engaging the safety switch and that the switch's cable is connected at both ends.

If you do not hear the click when the tray is removed and inserted, you can pull the control panel, disconnect the cable for the switch, and test it with an ohm meter or continuity tester.

To answer the question about the brain- I'm pretty sure your case is highly unusual. I've got about 150 roasts and it's working just fine. Plus I've not read in any of the forums about this happening.
