It's funny reading this and what has transpired since my last post.
I saw the Gene Cafe from Blue Mountain in el Salvador. Won one and began the long patient wait for delivery (also ordered 40 lbs of coffee, I'm guessing they'll arrive the same time).
In the meantime, I've been roasting with the Melita and paying more attention than I did with the freshroast. BF says I'm doing better than before. LOL
Saw a Craigs List listing for a HotTop. Contacted the seller, who will ship it to me for a total that's about $50 more than the Behmor from Roastmasters. Should be here in a couple days.
Still waiting on the GC which will be for sale as soon as it arrives.
So, an original budget of $200, I scraped up an extra $150 for a super duper roaster. I think that's a win! LOL

congrats on the roaster,
i love my gene cafe except for the preheating and dealing with a hot drum and then having to deal with a hot drum to dump it because its own cooling process takes so long!
