All and any comments welcome.
I just purchased some  JBM  and am wondering what roast level and brewing methods those drinking this are using.
A brief discription of the cup produced would also be appreiciated.
Thank you in advance for your input.

Check out the SM page.  Roast profile tips and there is an old cupping note from the last time they got decent beans (4 years ago)

It is a lot like Kona in the roasting. simular growing, but much higher in elevation. To me when I was i n Jamaica, it had a nice citrus, dry taste almost like a grapefruit, I have roasted manytimes and have gotten to the same taste before. I feel it is better roasted in a drum type then a fluid air bed.

What exactly are you trying to tell me sir?  This does not seem to help with my question.  I'm not being argumentative just wondering the point of the reply and please excuse me if  i am just ignorant of the meaning of "steamer".

Roasting technique for you will be somewhat different than mine. I have not used the Heat gun / bread machine or the Fresh Roast.

I have roasted JBM in my Behmor for several years. My recent roasts of JBM give great results, and a very interesting cup of coffee. I only use this bean for drip coffee.

On the Behmor, I use the P3 profile (the recommended one). This does NOT use 100% power throughout the roast - it slowly builds the heat during the roast. It uses 80% power for about 60% of the roast, then goes to 100% power for the last 40% of the time.

Over time, I have reduced the quantity of beans roasted. This has given me better results each time. I started with 13 ounces, then went to 12, 11 and now use 10 ounces.

I roast until first crack gets going well. Then I roast for about 2 minutes more. Just be careful that you do NOT get into second crack. When you get into second crack, you start losing the subtle nuances of JBM.

Those roast sizes are what I use for the Behmor when roasting using the high heat P1 profile.

My recent roasts with JBM are smaller - I got the best results with 8.5 ounces and P3.
