Hi all...
There is a new iPhone/iPod Touch roasting program titled RoastTimer. It permits entering a total time into the timer, and then dropping in markers on the fly (which can be edited later). It has a note's section, and saves the history of the roast. Initially there was a bug which caused it to crash when you put more than 3 markers in it, but that is fixed...this has real promise!

I'll still back it up with paper but I see this as a usefully designed program...

RoastTimer-click

Functions:
Timer - user definable (setable) - signals end, but permits you to go beyond prescribed time
Markers on the fly - called ''Time Stamp'' - click on it, add one (edit later if you want something renamed)
History - also can be edited
Title - can be edited like  Brazilian P3-D-1# 10oz

I think it's worth the $2.99 and am going to give it a workout - I'll report back on it.

I'm going to give it a whirl and report back to you...

Another screen shot-history of a roast - I had to work to get preheat at the top of the list (It's not in the preselected list...I could live with misc label) there is also an extensive notes page where details can be explained in much more detail.

Good find!  I just bought it and will also report back in a week or two after using it.

I have at least three "Killer Applications" on my phone, one of them a time/billing/invoice  unit that was like finding religion!

I like the sound effect (1) ...the bell with reverb.  Will try it out to-day.

HI folks
I'm going to try to find a more direct way to communicate with the programmer (the support site is in Korean), and make some suggestions to him/her about being able to sort or recall profiles by the name of the bean, and then be able to email myself the history (for backup and reference).

It's a nice little program, and I'm using the iPod to time roasts already so it's not a lot of extra work to use the symbols for 1st crack to mark onset and misc. to signify end of 1st etc.

And in the title, I put the Behmor settings...in the notes (not shown) I listed any additional data...

Share any discoveries with us please...thanks!!

Larry, I would love to know how to delete old 'test' or 'incorrect' files from the History.  Can you do that?
