Subject: Sold another Behmor - more power?

My coffee-drinking brother-in-law just got a new Behmor after watching me use poppers, SC/TO, and Behmor over the past 5 years.  He'd been using poppers but their limited capacity was a problem.  His household goes through the beans very quickly.

We talked a little about good starting procedures for him as per the usual discussion here on CG.  Last night he called to say that on his latest roast he used a FULL POUND of beans on (P2).  The beans started 1C right near the power drop and the roast finished nicely just into 2C.  He was very happy with the taste.  It got me wondering, has the Behmor been incrementally improved or does my bro-in-law just have a really nice electrical grid?

I would hope both! LOL
I just threw my breaker last night DURING a first-crack of Eth. Sidamo, and had to fumble around among wild blackberries on a steep, dark hill to reset my breaker. /grrrr..legs all scratched and bloody thanks to shorts.

It has gotten noticeably warmer here, and despite many homes not even having A/C systems, I'm seeing a precipitous decline in my power at home...several outlets at 117, one at 118. Naturally, the one I roast with is 117 as of last night. I dialed in 123 per usual, and still saw drops to 109,114,etc. during the roast.  The GFCI in the bathroom warmed up, tripped, and also threw the breaker outside. I usually roast in the early am, so it's my own fault for getting the roasting inspiration in the evening. /sigh Such is life in a 100+ year old structure.

edit: despite an almost 20 minute interruption of 1C, I finished the roast...Sidamo came out darker, and dryer (shiny beans) than I wanted, but not baked, and still quite aromatic, certainly drinkable. :) Even Behmor mistakes are better than *$!
