Try this. I hope my buddy doesn't get mad. This is a little messy but who cares right? 150g of beans to roast (weigh it out) When you go to roast it leave OFF the two top lids. The chaff catcher and the top screen that snaps into place. Important!!! I know I was a little weary, trust me. This is why. You want your beans to heat up slow then spike temp right at first crack and through the crack. Here are the temps and when to add the lids as you go. P1: 320/6 min P2: 390/2 min P3: 460/4 min P4,5 you don't need so set to 0 Right around the 4 1/2 minute mark your temp should be around 289 deg. put on the chaff catcher lid (let it float around but keep an eye on your temp, don't let your temp drop) around the 5 min mark your beans should be a light brown and the temp at 300 deg. and at the 6 min. mark the temp should be 306 deg. At 6 min. it should go into your p2 setting. Temp will rise to 331 at around the 6:15 and at 6:30 it should be at 338 deg. (push the roast/temp button to keep an eye on temp throughout the process, I should have told you that before) also (the times I give you, you need to subtract them from 12 minutes, your roast time) Got it. OK. Now your temp at 6:45 should be 342 it should stay there till 7:15 (temp may vary a few deg's no big deal) add your 2nd lid now at 7:15 you don't have to snap it into place unless your temp won't rise fast enough. at this time you should start into your first crack!!!! 7:30/367 deg 8:00/388 deg 8:15/412 deg. 8:30/426 and so on...... This is important WATCH YOUR BEANS THROUGH FIRST CRACK. WHEN YOU HEAR THE LAST POP AND YOU WANT A LIGHTER ROAST HIT THE COOL/DOWN BUTTON. FULL CITY/FULL CITY+ GO LONGER IF YOU WANT A DARKER ROAST. IF YOU WATCH THE BEANS YOU CAN GET THEM JUST RIGHT. I LIKE TO WAIT ABOUT 15-30 SECONDS AFTER FIRST CRACK SOMETIMES LONGER DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF BEANS
There it is. My friend spent alot of time coming up with it and I have used it exclusivly on all my beans. I want a pound of killer beans for this. Post a reply to tell me how it went and so I can give you my address!

Be careful roasting Tanz peaberry. The machine is a little loud and it is hard to hear the first crack!!! I guess any peaberry for that matter. This is such a great way to roast. Make sure you do it in the garage or outside or if you don't mind the mess, do it wherever. My wife would have a hissy fit (until she drank the killer coffee). Anyway HAVE FUN ROASTING!!!!!
You sound like you are trying to sell something.? Did your buddy ask for a pound to show you this? Is this some kinda Ponzi scheme? I don't have an I-roast so I can't try it. All the posts are starting to look like SPAM to me.

are you serious? I am just excited. I'm like kid in candy store. I have this secret I can't keep, I want other people to try it. The Iroast-2 gets HOT fast and cooks the bean too fast. Just want to share the wealth!! You can still send me some beans... Ha Ha

What do you mean by SPAM?? Are you being a little mean or concerned? You kinda sound like your personally attacking me. I don't know. I'm a little confused by your comment. What is a Ponzi scheme?

Hey Jonathan , calm down I'm just ribbin ya. Welcome to Coffee Geek. I'll let the moderators worry about the posting rules! Yes, your method of controlling air flow will provide a measure of temp control to that aggressive fast roaster.

Sorry. Start your roaster and check the temp. every minute by pushing the roast/temp button. These temps will vary a little 4,5,6 degrees. 1st min/266 deg. 2nd min/280 3rd min/284 bean should turn yellowish 4th min/288 yellowish tan 4:30/289 put your first lid on screened lid and let it float. all through the first 4 to 5 minutes chaff will be floating out the top. Make sure to keep it (chaff) cleared out of the bottom of your Iroast-2. There are holes in the bottom where air is sucked into the machine. It's kinda a pain in the butt sometimes but it is so worth it. You won't have near as much chaff on your decaf roasts. 5 min/300 beans will be light brown and so on so forth. Hope this helps. I did 2 roasts today and they were PERFECT!!!
