I just received an e-mail from  KoswaraSumaAmijaya@gmail.com.  in Indonesia offering Kopi Luwak raw, green, or roasted.
The raw was about $32 / kilo, the green $42 /kilo, and the roasted about $63 / kilo.

He attached pictures of what I am guessing is the raw stuff.  I nearly fell of my chair and barfed.  It looked like a bunch of deformed Pay-Day bars.

Is this guy on the level?

My gut would say no if you are getting this through email.  Dealers of Lopi Luwak don't need to solicit people to buy the stuff.

Hello Phil.  I see that this is an old post.  To answer your question, I would say "Yes", the raw product is basically civet turds packed full of coffee beans.  Very gross looking for sure, especially when you consider that people pick through the excrement to get the beans, and then pass them off to people to consume.

Whether you get real Kopi Luwak is essentially a question that an expert in civet digestive biology can answer, I would think.
