I recon my answer would be best in the form of a question.

Which of the alternatives have the owner coming here to give advice and answer questions about their product?

That would be Joe Behm, inventor of the Behmor.

I've been using my SC/TO for a couple of years now.   I looked closely at all of the commercial machines at the time and decided that the home made SC/TO was the best route.  I've considered the Behmor but have not been convinced enough to make a change.   I'm very happy with my SC/TO setup.   i have full control, can roast 1/4 to 1 pound, and the roasts are very tasty.   it is not automated.   one has to watch the temperature and the time and the smells and the cracks carefully but it works.

Same here.  I had a problem with my turbo oven and thought abuot the Behmor.   I couldn't justify the cost so for $40 bought a new turbo top.  You can put a SC/TO together for around $120.  I roast round 14-16 oz batches.  Can't do that with a Behmor and I can quickly dump the beans for a fast cool down.

Actually, you CAN do that with a Behmor.  I've done it.  But the Behmor seems to do a better job with 8-12 oz batches than full pounds, at least for me.

My TO/SC, with 1485W, is really strong but also seems to do the best roasts at 12 oz or less.  Above that and the evenness suffers.  But you need to know that since getting the Behmor in late '07 the GG/SC has been used less than 5 times.  It collects dust nowadays.  I would still be happily roasting with it if the Behmor hadn't come along.

He wasn't the alternative.

Good point.  I was thinking about all of the choices.  Therefore, that would be no one!
