A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of a wonderful trip to the Big Island! Stayed near Kona. A few weeks before I solicited feedback on CG for farms to tour. Joanie, from Rowesview unfortunately was out of town but VERY nicely suggested Lionsgate. I emailed in advance and set up a tour with Susanne from Lionsgate. What a wonderful experience!! Lionsgate is a small farm in south Kona. Susanne took me and my wife on a great tour of the farm and then of the drying and roasting part of her operation. She uses really cool " antique" equipment to process the 35,000lbs that are picked on the farm each year. I'm just a home roaster but Susanne spent over an hour with us and couldnt have been nicer. We bought 5lbs of green to take home ( technically the Dept of Agr frowns, but we never got caught) , roasted it last weekend and it is excellent!!!! I highly recommend contacting Lionsgate if you ever have the good fortune to get to Kona,, and certainly recommend ordering beans!!!!
