I run the roaster at 300 for about 10 minutes or more to get it good and warmed up. Then press and hold the red button until the "E" shows in the display like Susanna wrote earlier. Load the beans and start at 300 for 5 minutes, then ramp up. In your roaster, try 446 as the next step instead of 435 keeping the rest of the numbers. Take good notes and let us know the outcome.
That coffee is very good at just about any amount of rest, but I prefer it after 3 days for brewed.

I've been playing around with the Gene quite a bit and have developed a profile that works very consistently. Here it is :
SweetMarias DP Sidamo :
300 for 5 min. empty warmup
Dose : 200g 300 for 5 min 350 for 5 min 400 for 5 min 478 for 6:30 min (this should be into 2nd crack) Use Gene cooldown, then external blower for final temp cooling.
Let rest 2 days and you'll really smell and taste the blueberry nuance. Scrumptious as espresso, Cafe Crema or Americano
Even though a faster ramp up is usually needed for developing nuance over body, this long roast time seems to work the best (imo) for this Sidamo. I also use this same profile with a variance in the final stage for my Bolivian and Colombian roasts.

It will be interesting to compare profiles. I wrote up the profile below for someone else, so it has detailed directions; it has given me the best, intense blueberry and body so far:
Batch size: 226 grams Method of Cooling: External to roaster
Summary: 300º F for 5 mins of drying, 446º F until 9:00, 465º F until 10:30, 482º F until 13:30, 456º F until end of roast
Preheat the roaster at 482F for ~10 minutes, get it thoroughly warmed up.
Press and hold the the red button until it beeps. "E" will appear in the temp display and "StP" will appear in the time display. This is the immediate stop mode; it will finish the revolution and stop.
Quickly, but without burning yourself (watch that black metal hinge), remove the drum, sit it in the drum stand, load the beans and reinsert the drum.
Set the temperature to 300F and the time to at least 20 minutes
Hit start and start a timer
Run at 300F for 5 minutes - elapsed time = 5 minutes
Bump heat to 446F for 4 minutes - elapsed time = 9 minutes
Bump heat to 465F for 1.5 minutes - elapsed time = 10 minutes 30 seconds
Bump heat to 482F for about 3 minutes or about a minute into 1st crack - elapsed time on my log = 13:45 with 1st crack coming in at about 12:20
Drop heat to 456F for the remainder of the roast. Second crack should start at about 17:30. Stop just before 2nd crack.
Initiate the immediate stop mode again, remove the drum and quickly cool using an external method. I used a Wearever Cushionaire pizza pan on the back of a fan.

I'm adverse to pulling a load out with the emergency shutdown and cooling. I've done it a few times and just think it is more hassle than I want to do, and I could not discern a difference in taste between using the GC cooldown cycle a bit earlier than finish of the roast, and external cooldown from emergency stop.
