It has been warm enough(finally) in NJ to begin to roast outside again. I am finishing off a couple of assorted coffees (less than two pounds of green) and will be ordering more.

What I am looking for is a few suggestions of recently roasted new crop coffees that this board likes and would be useful as an a. m. brew. Usually done as chemex.

I am purposely avoiding coffees that have prominent overtones that are not typically coffeeish i. e. blueberries, lemon peel, guava paste or the neighbor's melancholy mastiff.

Not really bland nothing coffees, but satisfyingly lip smacking good standard issue kawfee.

Appreciate knowing the name and where the greens were purchased.

regards, Sky

Sky, have you ever tried www.thetaridgecoffee.com ?

I just purchased their Dominican Bani.  20 pounds of it to Connecticut was just $65 and change. I roast it to a City and find it to be good, smooth coffee.  I drink it black and prepare it with my Technivorm.

Coffeereview has a tiny blurb on it:

and

Bani and Ocoa Coffees:  A mellower, softer taste is produced by the Dominican Republic’s Bani and Ocoa coffees, which are often compared to coffees from Haiti.

Thanks for the suggestion. I went to the site and unfortunately the coffee you mentioned is no longer listed. I assume it sold out.

Len, is Theta Ridge a wholesaler only?  I see from opening the PDFs on the varieties, a bag weight listed.  Is that their current inventory, or will they break a bag for whatever amount might be wanted?

Nice selections on their list!

Hello Sky and also Ken.  The list shown on their site is outdated.  All you need to do to get their updated list is to give them a call at (574) 233-2436 or email them at Sales@thetaridge.com .  They are really a wholesale company that will break down their bags and provide you anything from one pound to full bags.  There is an additional fee per pound when purchasing under a full bag.  The entire info about this is included on the pricing list.

They are good people and I have been doing business with them for years.

I just grabbed the lastest price list I received from them dated April 17th.  Some things may have changed since then, but it should give you a good idea of costs and what they have available.  Again you should check with them prior to any orders for a new price list.  Note that the pricing reflects full bag pricing; at the very bottom of the list is a blurb from them about additional costs for getting less than full bags:
