Hi guys,

We are on a mission to find every coffee roaster and aggregate them into one place! We started in the midwest and are spreading throughout the country. Check out our site and let us know if we've missed any roasters in your state. http://www.superroast.com

We also just started a coffee roaster blog (First Crack) that will publish short five question interviews with roasters throughout the country. If you know any roasters (or if you are a roaster), please reach out to me (buzz@superroast.com) and we'll feature their roastery!

We published our first entry a couple days ago with Nathan Hamood from Dessert Oasis Roasters in Rochester, MI. Check it out here!

Thanks and sorry for the long post!

Funny, my wifes fam lives in Rochester, Dessert Oasis is downtown like 5 min away. Awesome coffee shop and coffee. Everytime I'm up there I buy their beans to bring back so her fam uses those instead of Charbucks beans for drip lol. I think the owners son is the roaster, think he's 15? And sources and roast all the beans. Told you on the other board but congrats on that blog, I was always wondering why somebody didn't do something like that, will be waaaaaaay easier to find roasters vs googling/yelping states and trying to search, much easier just to click a state and find everything. Even found some in my state I never heard of on your site.

You could add Alaska Coffee Roasting, odd name for South FL, but they have 1 shop in Alaska and 1 down here lol.

Thanks for the note CMIN -- glad to hear you like Dessert Oasis! Thanks for the kind words on the blog -- we are trying to help folks cut out unnecessary searching.

We added Alaska Coffee Roasting here, but we'll probably end up moving their profile to Alaska once we get there.

Thanks again!

Wow!  You guys have a lot of work to do...not just setting it up, but maintaining it too, as new roasters open, and old roasters close or move or open additional locations.  Having said that, you seem to have just barely scratched the surface, as you only list 3 roasters in California, and haven't even hit the rest of the pacific northwest.  I understand that's an ominous task in and of itself, but really, that's where there's the highest congregation of artisan roasters sits...ie, most bang for your buck.  Maybe I'll check back again after you add my state?

Having said all that, I don't see anyone replacing the H-B List of Favorites as a "go-to" for real coffee enthusiasts looking to try new places.

And I seriously wonder if you're breaking forum rules with this thread...I guess that's for the mods to decide.

Yep -- it certainly is a lot of legwork, but we think it will be worth it. We just started California today and should have most of them up soon!

We hope we're not breaking the rules :-( as that wasn't our intention and there is no monetization of any kind on our site whatsoever. Our intent is just to create a resource for people to find roasters and hear their thoughts!

You might look at all the lists scattered everywhere that everyone already makes and check the regional forums. There is a great SF area google coffee map that is pretty well kept up out there. and Eater-LA has a list of some LA roasters, no where all of them.

Good luck

Hey cool site.  I checked out the Michigan link and it is pretty complete.  We are a small micro roaster that just started up last year in Lansing, MI.  I will submit to be added on the site.  Keep up the good work!
