Never used as compost but had a serious go on the garden as supposed to deter slugs.  Worked fine as compost.  Had no discernible affect on slugs!  But was nice recycling a product I was helping generate.

on coffee that doesn't list their roast date or is way way past their roast date, I've found that using them in a toddy or other cold brew method makes it salvageable.

Plus I throw the spent grounds in my flower bed or fruit trees, which seems to help.
