I have HBP and have been told that eliminating caffeine from my diet will help. Ugh. I love caffeine and everything that it's attached to. So......I am looking for suggestions for a good decaf bean to use in my new Trifecta MB...I know someone out there will have some suggestions! Thanks!

Don't usually drink decaf but this was recommended to try and it is very good.

Where are you?

Here in Philly, there are several small roasters with very good decafs--not quite as good as "real" coffee, but much better than none!  In particular, Old City Coffee has some CO2-processed blends that seem quite a bit more flavorful than the usual Swiss Water Process blends.

Adding about 15-20% caffeinated beans improves the flavor considerably without too much caffeine, BTW.

There are quite a few good decaf beans out there on the market. Chromatic coffee is yes, one of them. You may want to try that. Or you can try to visit one of your local roasters if there is any. You can do some taste test first before buying a whole bag.

I have bought Intelli's Librarian's Blend for several folk who for medical reasons cannot have caffeine.

One's comment was "OMG, I can have real coffee again."

Another said it was very very good.

The world needs more outstanding coffee.

I love that steel badge on the images.  Have either of you who recommended it tried any of the espressos?  I'm most interested in the gamut, but since we also drink decaf 'spro in our house, I'm curious about that one too.

To OP:  I recently bought my Mom some decaf Vita blend from Espresso Vivace and she liked it very much.  David claims it performs quite well in press pot, so I'd expect it to do well in the trifecta also (though I don't own one, so consider the source).  My Mom is a press pot lover of 50+ years.  My only other decaf experience is 'spro, so that's all I got for ya.

Chromatic Coffee is one of the best. The shop used to be one of Barefoot's locations but the owner wanted to do his own roasting again so he stopped his relationship with barefoot and launched Chromatic. I had one of the best espressos of my life pulled on thier Strada. I really put Chromatic up there with the best San Francisco roasters.
