There are variations in availability between different countries and even prices fluctuate from country to country, even when accounting for exchange rates, but it's pretty much the same exercise to decide on a machine. First, figure out what you need, based on anticipated use, availability of space, plumbing and power supply in your home. Then look at what features you want in a machine, what you want it to look like, and how much you're willing to spend, and if you're willing to buy used or want new, and then see what's available that fits the bill.
Read the buying guide here. Also, read the new thread created today by Coffeenoobie in Espresso Machines. then re-post with answers to the standard questions, so people can actually help you. When you get to the stage where you've decided what you want in terms of features, DavecUK will be an excellent resource for you (not that he won't be helpful along the decision path too).
