I am betting there will be alot more folks drinking straight double if/when milk hits $8 like they are talking about.
You know those people that want to tell you how to raise your kids but have none of their own? That is how i feel when someone with a kitchen appliance tells me how the merits or dis-merits of my machine or how to use it.
Except it sucks when you drink as much milk as I do daily, shake after gym and bunch of glasses through out the day lol.... good fats and protein in whole milk but dang it's getting pricey.

How much is it now? Sorry don't mean to be funny...and in fact, I do most of the grocery shopping and cooking in my house. I buy two gallons at a time a couple of times a week...it's just that I don't look at the price.

I too couldn't tell you the price of milk. I know I'm lucky in that I don't have to worry about the price of milk. I do how ever find the context of this post curiously disturbing in that an inhabitant of one of the richest countries in the world is highlighting the cost impact of an ingredient in what is basically a luxury item.
I guess I'm saying get over it and let's worry more about the effect on those who can't afford lattes or protein shakes.

With all due respect, in the US, milk is hardly a luxury item. It is a daily beverage for children, not to mention it's presence in other dairy products such as butter, sour cream, cottage cheese, etc. At least in OUR neck of the woods, milk is considered a staple.
All that said, the conflict was resolved. Relax everyone.
Curiously, the price per gallon of milk has generally followed the price per gallon of gasoline. Odd, isn't it?
Also, love your quote. Couldn't be more spot on.

You are absolutely correct. His words: "highlighting the cost impact of an ingredient in what is basically a luxury item. "
The ingredient (milk) is in the luxury item (the latte).
Please don't take offense at my explanation, I know you knew that. Just for others who may not have seen it the first time.

Thanks and thanks Len for clarifying this. That is what I meant, though I apologise for the tone of the last line of my post which was some what harsh.
