Hello folks! I've been lurking around the forums and reading up on all sorts of coffee and espresso topics, as well as savoring the opinions in reviews and various how-to guides. Though I used to be a barista I was woefully trained and didn't know what I didn't know regarding brewing and shot extraction, and while I have used a French press for a year and am just getting into pourovers/moka/aeropress brewing, I still have a LOT to learn.
My question today relates to reading material on the subject of coffee brew/extraction strength, characteristics for tasting, and general methodology. I have been searching the web and this site for resources, but are there any excellent books on the topic of coffee and espresso to give me a solid base? I keep feeling like I'm getting a lot of detailed material here, there, and everywhere, without any solid foundational knowledge to build upon. What would be considered some excellent primers (online or bound) on coffee to help me get deeper into the subject than just my own tests or random online topics?
Any favorite resources of users on here?
Thanks so much for any direction or titles you can pass along!

Thank you! None of those immediately look familiar as resources I've browsed, which is exactly what I'm looking for. I'll be bookmarking and reading through this evening :)
