For performance reasons, there's a time limit for how long inactive posts stick around in the browse view. I think it was something like 6 months. (I'm sure someone will be glad to correct me if that's wrong.) Older posts still exist in the database but you have to use search to find them. Jim

Thanks for the reply, I didn't get the courtesy of one when I wrote the owner and went though the process of validating my email. Hard to imagine there would be performance issues with this site (it's not terribly busy) but I'm glad it's here in spite of its limitations.
