For performance reasons, there's a time limit for how long inactive posts stick around in the browse view. I think it was something like 6 months. (I'm sure someone will be glad to correct me if that's wrong.)
Older posts still exist in the database but you have to use search to find them.
Symbols: = New Posts since your last visit = No New Posts since last visit = Newest post
