These a*swipe big coffee corps are just trying to play on the green tea health benefits that have been pounded into the masses skulls over the past 10 years.
I'm sure their profitability studies show they will make money on it. If its not already at Starbucks it probably will soon be.

Speaking of, this reminds me a little of the recent Nick Cho blog post taking Starbucks to task for using "green coffee extract" as a euphemism for caffeine (aka "decaffeination byproduct") in its descriptions of their Refreshers energy drinks. Seems like the Nescafe product, in contrast, truly does contain green coffee.
Well yeah...but I'm still curious about what it tastes like. Apparently it contains 35% green coffee. That sounds high enough to make the drink taste completely unlike coffee (even instant coffee).

Green coffee extract is.... Caffeine.
I suppose they have to find a revenue stream for the caffeine recovered from decaffeinated coffee. LOL

I've read about this before (not the first time green coffee extract has come up). It's also a source of chlorogenic acid. It may not be entirely hokum.
