Anybody here ever try this grand of coffee? I was at a restaurant yesterday, kind of an upscale sort of place, and I had a cup of coffee after dinner. It was absolutely delicious, nutty, smooth. I asked the waiter what it was and he wrote down the name and said it was their 100% colombian. Awesome stuff. Anybody else ever try it?
They supply Burger King with their coffee, I believe. It's all pre-brewed and bagged, then mixed with hot water and served. Something like that. I find it foul and lifeless, personally.
For a lot of commercial uses they are bag in a box. Prebrewed, condensed and packaged in a bag then a box. Mix with hot water and instant coffee. It is better than the swill normally served in our work caff but not by much. I suppose they may sell beans but most I know of are BNB.

DE is a very big roaster from the Netherlands. They also own and/or partner with other European roasters. Their products range across the entire gamut and they do in fact sell some very good coffee. BNB is a minimal part of their operation.
Like said before Douwe Egberts is a big commercial roaster from the Netherlands, who among other products collaborate with Philips for Senseo machines providing the original Senseo coffee pads. They also offer coffee vending machines, pre-ground and whole bean coffee sold at supermarkets, and have an espresso (Piazza d'Oro) and tea brand (Pickwick). I think that says enough about the quality and freshness of their coffee.

Well,I bought some to try it out and I'll let you know how it is. I ordered a pound of beans. Big doesn't mean bad. I think the issue will be freshness not necessarily size of company.
The long distribution channels of industrial roaster usually result in beans that are far from being fresh, at least the way most people on this forum consider freshness, i.e. no more than 15 days from roasting.
