Having said all that, I still prefer sweetener in my coffee based drinks.
Just saying so to illustrate that everyone's tastes are different.
I am a home brewer too. So far all I have made is IPA but my next project is going to include coffee as an ingredient. Now I have been known to say that I like my beer as dark as my coffee and one of these days a dark ale will be a brewin in my house.
