Hi All,
Great forum and tons of information. I've used search, but haven't found what I'm looking for. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
My wife loves Starbucks Christmas Blend. Unfortunately, it's only available during the Holiday season. I don't drink coffee, but I am hoping to surprise her with a coffee bean that's similar to the taste of the Starbucks Christmas Blend.

I think getting them to tell you the makeup of the blend would be a lot like getting the Kentucky Col. to give you his 11 herbs and spices in his chicken.
The key is to get your wife to like better coffee as was said above. As a general statement, Starbucks is over roasted and for the most part very stale. I think they are the largest seller of coffee flavored milks shakes in the nation. What is it that she likes about that blend over other "coffee" that she may buy at starbucks? Perhaps we can direct you to something that she would like better.

Any freshly roasted coffee that is from a reputable roaster should not be bitter, so that part is easy. Not sure where you are at in Philly, but Rival Brothers Revolver Blend would probably work - they have a truck that alternates between Drexel and Love Park. You could also go over to Chestnut hill coffee co. Not sure what their current bean offerings are but if you ask I am sure they would give you help. One Village Coffee is north of the city, but most times any places that carry it have month old bean stock (ideally you want it within 2 weeks of roasting). If you can give a better idea of where in Philly you could pick up locally I could be of more help. Otherwise mail order is a good option.

Thanks, jkoll42. We're in Montco right near Conshocken. Mail order might work best, but going to a local place and letting her try some of the coffee's before buying in bulk would also be great.
